Castle Privacy & Data Protection Policy
Castle is a lightweight, free entertainment directory built for watching on the move across India, and this policy answers the privacy questions people most often ask about it. The theme throughout is restraint: Castle is engineered to run on the least personal information a mobile streaming directory can require. It is prepared under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology Act, 2000, and applies on Android phones, Android TVs, and Fire TV Stick.
Do I have to create an account?
No. Castle asks for no registration at all. There is no email, no phone number, and no profile built in the background. You open the app and watch as a guest, in 1080p, from the first tap, whether you are at home on Wi-Fi or on mobile data during a commute. Because no identity is collected, there is nothing about you that could later be leaked, sold, or exposed. Watching free on the move does not cost you your personal details, because those details are never gathered.
What does the app read from my device?
Only a small set of non-identifying technical details, and only so that playback stays smooth on an unstable connection: the device model, the Android version, the screen resolution, and available memory. These describe the hardware, not you, and they let the player match stream quality to your device and signal, which matters most when the network is weak on the move. None of these can be traced back to an individual viewer, and nothing is stored on our side.
Where do my language and search settings go?
They stay on your device. Your language choice across Hindi, English, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, along with your search history and preferences, is written only to local storage and is never uploaded, because there is no account to sync to. On the device, your language choice arranges the rows you see first, matches regional audio where a title offers it, and brings the right subtitles forward in the player, and none of that reaches any advertising network.
How do the ads work?
Castle is kept free through light, standard advertising supplied by trusted third-party networks such as Google AdMob. These networks may use the anonymous Android Advertising ID to limit how often an ad repeats; the identifier carries no name, address, or contact detail, and its use follows each network's own privacy policy. You can reset or switch it off at any time in your Android privacy settings. Castle itself builds no advertising profile of you and shares nothing you watch for ad targeting.
Is my data safe if I use a desktop emulator?
Yes. Castle is built natively and only for Android, including phones, Android TVs, and Fire TV Stick, and it is not a native Windows or macOS application. If you run the Castle APK on a desktop through a third-party Android emulator such as BlueStacks or LDPlayer, it stays inside that emulator's sandbox. Castle cannot read, scan, or change the host computer's operating system, local drives, browser history, or personal files.
How do I erase my data, and who handles complaints?
Because everything is on your device, erasing it is immediate: Clear Data or Clear Cache in your Android settings wipes your history, tokens, and language preferences at once, and uninstalling removes the rest. No form and no waiting are involved. In keeping with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, Castle has appointed a Grievance Officer to handle privacy concerns. A request sent through our online help centre is acknowledged within 24 hours and reviewed within the statutory 15-day window.
